Highway 1 Paving Project in Watsonville Continues with Daytime Ramp Closures Starting Monday Dec. 4
A project to improve pavement quality on five miles of Highway 1 in southern Santa Cruz County continues next week with daytime ramp closures.
From Monday Dec. 4 thru Thursday Dec. 7, travelers will encounter intermittent on and offramp closures on Hwy. 1 between Riverside Dr. and Buena Vista Dr., from 7 am to 5 pm.
Crews will begin work on resurfacing and paving ramps from the Buena Vista Dr. on and offramps and work their way south to Riverside Dr. as the week progresses. Intermittent on and off ramp closures will take place at Buena Vista Dr., Airport Blvd., Harkins Slough Rd., Main St., and Riverside Dr.
During the course of this ramp resurfacing work, no two on or offramps will be closed consecutively.
This 5-mile pavement rehabilitation project on Highway 1 spans from the Pájaro River Bridge to one-mile north of Buena Vista Dr. in Watsonville. This project will result in a smoother safer drive for the traveling public.
The contractor for this $6.44 million project is Teichert Construction of Sacramento, CA.
