Highway 129 Culvert Rehabilitation Starts 5/30

Published May 30, 2023

Highway 129 Culvert Project Begins This Week

A culvert rehabilitation project along Highway 129 east of Watsonville will begin on Tuesday, May 30.  The first phase of the project will include the placement of construction related signs, so no lane closures are planned.

Travelers on Highway 129 near Old Chittenden Road will encounter overnight one-way traffic control from 8 pm to 6 am with exact dates and times to be announced when certain.  Roadwork is also expected to take place during the daytime hours Monday through Thursday from 9 am until 3 pm and from 9 am to 12 noon on Fridays.

Message and directional signs will be in place to assist travelers in the area.

Travelers can expect delays of 10 minutes.

The contractor for this $117,000 project is Wylatti Resource Management, Inc.

Road information and updates can also be found on Caltrans District 5 Social Media platforms: Twitter at: @CaltransD5, Facebook at: Caltrans Central Coast (District 5) and Instagram at: Caltrans_D5.

Our crews deserve to get home safely too.  Drive slowly and carefully in work zones.
