Full Closure of Highway 236 to be in Effect for the Morning of Wednesday Oct. 18
A full closure of Hwy. 236 will be in effect on Wednesday Oct. 18 at Post Mile 16.7 between the hours of 6 am and 11 am.
This closure location is on upper Hwy. 236, approximately two miles south of the north junction with Hwy. 9, and some seven miles north of Big Basin State Park Headquarters. This section of Hwy. 236 was reopened to one-way travel on September 23, after repairs to damage from winter storms.
Crews will be pouring a concrete slab the morning of Wednesday Oct. 18, for construction of a retaining wall. A concrete boom pump truck will need to maneuver in the travel lane to deliver concrete. Hwy. 236 will reopen to one-way traffic once the concrete pour is complete.
Message and directional signs will be in place to alert travelers in advance of this closure.
