United Way’s free, confidential, multi-lingual 211 service can connect you with transportation resources as well as help you find food, housing, health care, senior services, child care, legal aid and much more. Simply call 211 from any phone. Available 24/7.
Lift Line
Lift Line operates a variety of transportation programs, including Medical Rides, Taxi Scrip, Veterans Medical Transportation, and others.
Volunteer Center
The Santa Cruz Volunteer Center’s Volunteer Transportation program addresses the needs of ambulatory seniors and the disabled by offering free rides throughout the county. The program matches drivers with seniors (55+) and disabled individuals for essential trips to medical appointments, grocery stores, pharmacies, and banks.
Accessible Transit
Santa Cruz Metro offers ADA paratransit shared ride service called ParaCruz to people with disabilities as well as personalized instruction through its mobility training program on how to ride the fixed-route buses for older adults and people with disabilities.
A committee focused on Accessible Transportation
RTC’s citizen’s advisory Elderly and Disabled Transportation Advisory Committee (E&D TAC), advises the RTC on issues related to accessible transportation.
