TEMPORARY TRAFFIC SIGNAL ON HIGHWAY 9 NOW IN PLACE TO SUPPORT DRAINAGE AND EROSION CONTROL PROJECT

Travelers on Highway 9 will now encounter a 24/7 traffic signal which has been installed to support an ongoing drainage and erosion control project. The signal system covers an area from slightly north of Clear Creek Road/Pacific Avenue to south of Irwin Way.
This signalized one-way traffic control will allow motorists to move through the project area on an alternating basis and will enhance the safety of crews and the traveling public.
The contractor for this $19.5 million project is Gordon N. Ball of Walnut Creek, CA.
Motorists can expect a delay not to exceed ten minutes this week and twenty minutes next week. This project is expected to be complete late fall.
Message and directional signs will alert travelers in advance of the areas under traffic control. Please allow for extra time for your travels through the area.
Our crews deserve to get home safely too. Drive slowly and carefully in work zones.
