UPDATE: Full Freeway Closure on Hwy 17 due to Bridge Railing Replacement 7/8 & 7/9

UPDATE: Caltrans is replacing bridge railings at two locations along Highway 9 at (Booker Creek on post mile 3.6 and Highway 9 at (State Route 17) at post mile 11.4.

Highway 17 Full Freeway Closures Friday (7/8) and Saturday (7/9): 

Caltrans will alternate between closing the southbound Highway 17 and northbound Highway 17. Only one side will be closed at a time on both Friday 7/8 and Saturday 7/9 between the hours of 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. Caltrans will start the full closure on southbound SR-17 at 1:00 a.m. on 7/8 Friday morning and shift to the northbound direction at approximately 3:00 a.m. on 7/8 Friday morning. The same sequence will occur on 7/9 Saturday morning from 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.

  •  Southbound Highway 17 Detour:  Off-ramp to westbound Los Gatos / Saratoga Rd (Highway 9) to southbound N Santa Cruz Ave to Highway 17
  • Northbound Highway 17 Detour:  Off-ramp to N Santa Cruz Ave to northbound Winchester Blvd to eastbound Lark Ave to northbound Highway 17

The work will involve the removal of bridge railings, metal beam guardrails, saw cutting sidewalk and grinding asphalt both during the day and evening. There will be ramp and freeway closures during this project.
