Highway 152 Construction Project near Watsonville from Wagner Avenue to Holohan Road is Underway

A construction project to install pedestrian facilities and widen the existing shoulders is underway on a ¾ -mile section of Hwy. 152 between Wagner Ave. and Holohan Rd. near Watsonville, Caltrans officials have announced.

Details are as follows:

• Roadwork currently consists of daytime shoulder closures Mondays through Fridays from 7 am to 4 pm.

• As of Monday, April 22, lane closures will be in effect with one-way traffic control from 8:30 am to 3 pm Mondays through Thursdays and 8:30 am to 2 pm on Fridays, in addition to the current shoulder work.

• Nighttime work will also take place Sundays through Thursdays from 8 pm to 6 am (Friday morning) and Fridays from midnight to 6 am (Saturday morning).

Electronic message signs are posted to alert motorists, who can expect delays of up to 20 minutes and are advised to use an alternate route. Roadwork is expected to be completed in early August. The contractor for this $1.5 million construction project is Granite Construction Company of Watsonville, CA.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
