Highway 9 Resurfacing Nearing Completion in Santa Cruz County with Final Striping Next Week

A project to resurface Highway 9 from Greenvale Drive to the Junction with Hwy. 236 (Waterman’s Gap) will be nearing completion with the final striping work to take place on Tuesday, September 3 through Thursday, September 5 from 7 am until 5 pm.

Motorists will encounter a moving lane closure during this striping operation lead by a pilot car and are reminded to drive carefully through this construction zone. Delays are not expected to exceed 15 minutes.

The contractor for this $1.2 million project which includes work in various locations in Santa Cruz/Monterey Counties is Granite Construction of San Jose, CA.  This project is expected to be complete in September.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.

Motorists may call Caltrans District 5 Public Affairs at 805-549-3318, visit the Caltrans website, or check the Cruz511 map on our homepage for current road conditions. #KnowBeforeYouGo
