Hwy 9 Detour between Santa Cruz and Felton for tree removal 4/22 – 4/25

Published April 18, 2019

Four full daytime closures on both directions of Highway 9 between Keystone Way in Santa Cruz and Glengarry Road in Felton

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY– The Santa Cruz Maintenance and Tree Crews will conduct four full daytime closures on both directions of Highway 9 between Keystone Way in Santa Cruz and Glengarry Road in Felton to remove numerous dead trees along the roadway starting Monday, April 22 through Thursday, April 25 from 7 am to 4 pm each day.

The suggested detour is Graham Hill Rd/Mt. Hermon Rd. Motorists can expect delays of 5-10 minutes, the length of time it takes to go around the detour.

The purpose of this diseased tree removal is to provide safety and fire prevention to local residents and the traveling public.

Electronic message boards will be posted to alert motorists of this roadwork. All roadwork is scheduled to be completed by Thursday, April 25 at 4 pm.

Please make arrangements to your commute to allow for delays.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
