Emergency paving on southbound Highway 17 from 6/12-6/16

Caltrans will perform emergency grinding and paving operations beginning Monday, June 12 at the following locations:

 Monday, June 12 through Thursday, June 15 near Scotts Valley:

  • The southbound No. 2 (right) lane of Hwy. 17 from Summit Rd. to Vinehill Rd. will be closed from 7:30 am until 2 pm.

Friday, June 16 in Santa Cruz:

  • The southbound No. 2 (right) lane of Hwy. 17 from Sims Rd. to Pasatiempo Dr. will be closed from 9:30 am until 2 pm.

Emergency grind and pave operations are necessary to repair the roadway damaged by the winter storms. Electronic message boards will be activated to advise travelers about this roadwork. Motorists can expect delays of up to 30 minutes.  This roadwork is being performed by the Caltrans Maintenance team in Santa Cruz.
