Southbound Highway 1 Connector to Northbound Highway 17 in Santa Cruz to Close Overnight Tuesday Dec. 15

The southbound Highway 1 connector to northbound Highway 17 in Santa Cruz will be subject to overnight closure starting Tuesday Dec. 15 at 9 pm and will reopen by Wednesday Dec. 16 at 5 am.

A detour will be available. Motorists on southbound Highway 1 may continue south and take the Morrissey Blvd. exit. Motorists may then take the northbound onramp at Morrissey for Highway 1 and continue to the northbound Highway 17 connector.

Motorists can expect delays of up to 5 minutes.

This closure is necessary for Caltrans crews to perform emergency electrical work.

Message and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway work zones.

For traffic updates on other state highways in Santa Cruz County, travelers may contact Caltrans District 5 Public Affairs at 805-549-3318 or can visit the District 5 website.
