Highway 1 Lane Closure on 2/12

Published February 11, 2020

Emergency Lane Closure on Highway 1 in Santa Cruz for Tree Removal

The No. 2 (right) lane of Hwy. 1 will be closed from the High Street Pedestrian Crossing to Mission Street in Santa Cruz on Wednesday, Feb. 12 from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm for emergency tree removal.

In addition, the No. 2 (right) turn lane of northbound Hwy. 1 will be closed just before Mission Street to allow Caltrans to remove a large tree that fell during heavy winds this past weekend.  The No. 1 (left) turn lane from Hwy. 1 onto Mission Street will be partially closed during this roadwork.

Motorists can expect delays not to exceed 10 minutes.

This roadwork will be performed by the Caltrans Santa Cruz Maintenance team.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway work zones.

For more information on this project and for traffic updates on other Caltrans projects in Santa Cruz County, residents may call the District 5 Public Affairs Office at (805) 549-3318 or visit Caltran’s website.
