Highway 1 Near Aptos Set for Moving Closure January 9 as Paving Project Nears Completion
A project to improve pavement quality along four miles of Highway 1 in southern Santa Cruz County nears completion with the placement of final pavement markers.
Travelers will encounter a moving lane closure on northbound and southbound Hwy 1 from 10 am to 1 pm, from 0.9 miles north of the Buena Vista Bridge to the Rio Del Mar Bridge in Aptos.
Travelers can expect delays of up to 10 minutes.
This project will result in a smoother safer drive for the traveling public.
The contractor for this $5.7 million project is Granite Rock Construction from Watsonville, CA. This project will be completed January 9, 2025.
