Overnight Closure of Southbound Highway 1 Onramp at Soquel Ave. to Start Sunday, February 1 at 9 PM
Travelers will encounter an overnight closure of the Soquel Ave. onramp to southbound Highway 1 starting Sunday, February 1, at 9 pm. The southbound ramp will reopen at 6 am on Monday, February 2.
Southbound Hwy. 1 will also be reduced to a single lane, the #1 (left) lane, near Soquel Ave. from 10 pm to 6 am.
Message and directional signs will be in place to alert travelers in advance of this work. Please allow extra time for your commute through the area.
After these overnight lane and ramp closures are lifted, travelers will find Hwy. 1 reduced to two lanes from Soquel Ave. until past the pedestrian overcrossing at Chanticleer Ave. The auxiliary lane will reopen to travel south of Chanticleer Ave.
The closure of the auxiliary lane between Soquel and Chanticleer Avenues will allow crews to work safely behind concrete barriers to install protective treatments to columns, install guardrail, and complete embankment construction.
This configuration of the highway during this next phase of construction is expected to remain in place for two to three months, with the schedule weather dependent.
