
Full Overnight Closure of Southbound Highway 1 Set for Monday October 7
A project to construct north and southbound auxiliary lanes and bus-on-shoulder improvements on Hwy. 1 between the Bay Avenue/Porter Street and State Park Drive interchanges continues next week with an overnight closure of southbound Highway 1 at Park Ave on Monday Oct. 7.

For Monday Oct. 7, travelers will encounter an overnight closure of southbound Hwy. 1 at Park Ave. This closure will be in effect from Monday Oct. 7, at 11 pm thru Tuesday Oct. 8 at 6 am.
A detour is available. Travelers on southbound Hwy. 1 will be directed off at Park Ave. and take Soquel Dr. before rejoining Hwy. 1 at the State Park Dr. onramp to southbound Hwy. 1.
Message and directional signs are in place to alert travelers in advance of the ramp closure and to guide travelers through the detour.
The contractor for this $78 million project is Granite Construction of Watsonville, CA and the project is expected to be completed by September 2026.
