Highway 1 Park Ave Ramp Reopens Prior to Long Term Bay Ave Ramp Closure

Published August 27, 2025

Highway 1 Park Avenue Ramps to Reopen Prior to Long Term Closure of Bay Avenue Ramps

A project to construct northbound and southbound auxiliary lanes and bus-on-shoulder improvements on Highway 1 between the Bay Avenue/Porter Street and State Park Drive interchanges continues with significant ramp changes coming in September.

The three Park Avenue ramps, which are currently closed, will reopen on Wednesday, September 5, at 9:00 pm. The Bay Avenue/Porter Street ramps will close the night of September 4 at 9:00 pm.

Closure Details for Bay Avenue/Porter Street Ramps:

  • Date: Thursday, September 4
  • Time: 9:00 PM
  • Affected Ramps: The southbound Highway 1 off-ramp and the northbound Highway 1 on-ramp at Bay Avenue/Porter Street will be closed.
    • These closures will be in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for approximately 8 months to allow for the complete reconstruction of the ramps.

Detour routes will be available to guide motorists around the closures:

NB Bay Ave./Porter St. Detour:

  • Travelers will be directed to use the SB Bay Ave./Porter St. on-ramp, exit at the SB Park Ave. off-ramp, and then re-enter Hwy. 1 using the NB Park Ave. on-ramp to reach the NB Bay Ave./Porter St. off-ramp.
