Highway 1 Soquel Dr. Offramp Closure 5/19

Published May 20, 2025

Northbound Highway 1 Offramp at Soquel Dr. Subject to Daytime Closure Monday, May 19

Construction on a project to add north and southbound auxiliary lanes and bus-on-shoulder improvements on Highway 1 between the 41st Avenue and Soquel Drive interchanges and to aid in construction of a new bicycle and pedestrian overcrossing at Chanticleer Avenue will continue next week with overnight lane and ramp closures for striping activities.

Monday, May 19

Travelers on northbound Hwy. 1 will encounter a closure of the offramp at Soquel Dr.  on Monday, May 19 between 9 am and 3 pm. Message and directional signs will be in place to alert travelers in advance of this ramp closure.

Please allow extra time for your commute through the area.

The Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) recently announced the opening of the new north and southbound auxiliary lanes between the 41st Avenue and Soquel Avenue/Drive interchanges, which mark a major milestone in the Watsonville to Santa Cruz Multimodal Corridor Program. See the RTC’s announcement at this link: https://www.sccrtc.org/new-auxiliary-lanes-now-open-on-highway-1-auxiliary-lane-and-bus-on-shoulder-project-between-41st-avenue-and-soquel-avenue-drive/
