Highway 17 Overnight Lane Closures 4/15

Published April 15, 2024

Overnight Lane Closures on Highway 17 Set for Monday April 15 Between Vine Hill Road and Sugarloaf Road

Travelers on Highway 17 north of Scotts Valley will encounter a reduction to one lane of travel in each direction on Monday April 15, starting at 8:00 pm.

Travelers on northbound Highway 17 will cross over and travel in the southbound direction of the highway between Vine Hill Rd. and Sugarloaf Rd. Northbound travelers will then return to the northbound side of travel. For northbound travel, this lane shift will be in effect on Monday April 15, from 8:30 pm to 5 am. Southbound lanes will be affected from 8 pm to 6 am.

CHP will be on site to assist with traffic control.

Message and directional signs will be in place to alert travelers.

This closure will allow for final paving work to take place as part of ongoing repairs at the Jarvis Slide. Crews will apply open-graded friction course pavement to the shoulder and the #2 (right) lane as well as install drainage infrastructure.

Road information and updates can also be found on Caltrans District 5 Social Media platforms: Twitter at: @CaltransD5, Facebook at: Caltrans Central Coast (District 5) and Instagram at: Caltrans_D5.

Our crews deserve to get home safely too.  Drive slowly and carefully in work zones.
