Highway 17 Overnight Lane Closures Moved to Tuesday and Wednesday This Week

Overnight lane closures on Highway 17, previously scheduled to begin this evening, have been delayed one day out of an abundance of caution related to the effects of this weekend’s rain.

Travelers in both directions of Highway 17 near Laurel Curve will now encounter travel reduced to one lane for two nights, on Tuesday Sept. 20 and Wednesday Sept. 21.

For Tuesday Sept. 20, and Wednesday Sept. 21, lane closures on northbound Hwy. 17 will take place from 8 pm to 5 am. Closures on southbound Hwy. 17 will take place from 9 pm to 6 am.

CHP will be on hand to assist with traffic control.

Message and directional signs will be in place to assist travelers in the area.

Travelers can expect delays of 10 minutes.

These lane closures will permit crews to perform striping and paving work as construction continues to progress at the Laurel Curve wildlife undercrossing.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway work zones.
