Highway 9 Closure 10/30

Published October 24, 2019

Full Daytime Closure of Highway 9 Between Keystone Way near Santa Cruz and Glengarry Rd in Felton for Maintenance on Wednesday, October 30

The Santa Cruz Maintenance and Striping Crews will conduct one daytime closure on both directions of Highway 9 between Keystone Way near Santa Cruz and Glengarry Road in Felton to refresh road pavement markings and striping on Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 8 am to 3 pm.

There are two suggested detours:

  • Graham Hill Rd from Felton to Santa Cruz;
  • Hermon Rd to Hwy. 17 to Santa Cruz.

Motorists can expect traffic delays of 10-15 minutes, the length of time it takes to go around the detours.

NOTE: Paradise Park and Big Tree Manor residents, as well as emergency services, will have access through the full closure.

The purpose of this maintenance roadwork is also to refresh the road pavement markings and striping as well as to provide safety to local residents and the traveling public.

Electronic message boards will be posted to alert motorists of this roadwork. All roadwork is scheduled to be completed by Wednesday, October 30 at 3 pm.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.

Please refer to Google maps for the exact location.

For more information on this project and for traffic updates on other Caltrans projects in Santa Cruz County, residents can call the District 5 toll free number at 1-831-423-0396 or can visit Caltrans website.
