Highway 9 Overnight Closure 9/5

Published September 5, 2023

Overnight Closure of Highway 9 Set for Tuesday Sept. 5 in Ben Lomond for Utility Relocation

Work to relocate utility wires will result in a full overnight closure of Hwy. 9 on Tuesday Sept. 5, from 7:30 pm to 1 am near Highlands County Park.

Message and directional signs have been placed in advance of this closure.

This section of the highway is known as Jaye’s Slide and is located at Post Mile 8.8 on Hwy. 9 in Ben Lomond, near Park Way and Shadowbrook Rd. at the north end of Highlands County Park.

A detour is available on Glen Arbor Road. Travelers should expect delays of up to 10 minutes.

During this overnight closure crews will continue to remove overhead utility lines which will allow for the use of drill rigs and cranes in upcoming stages of repair work at this location.

Road information and updates can also be found on Caltrans District 5 Social Media platforms: Twitter at: @CaltransD5, Facebook at: Caltrans Central Coast (District 5) and Instagram at: Caltrans_D5.

Our crews deserve to get home safely too.  Drive slowly and carefully in work zones.
