Highway 9 to Close Overnight in Ben Lomond This Week
An overnight grinding and paving operation on Highway 9 in Ben Lomond this week will result in partial and full closures of Highway 9. This paving work will take place in Ben Lomond between Willowbrook Drive and Highlands County Park.
Monday March 22 8 pm to 5 am
Motorist will encounter one-way reversing traffic control on Hwy. 9 between Highlands County Park and Coon Heights Rd. Motorists wishing to enter Hwy. 9 from Lower Glen Arbor Rd. will be detoured to Upper Glen Arbor Rd. to access Hwy. 9.
Tuesday March 23 8 pm to 5 am
Both directions of Hwy. 9 will be closed to thru traffic between Arboleda Way and Glen Arbor Rd. including the southbound lane and two-way left turn pocket between Lower Glen Arbor Rd. and Coon Heights Rd. All traffic will be detoured through Glen Arbor Rd. One-way reverse traffic control will be in place between Lower Glen Arbor Rd. and Coon Heights Rd.
Wednesday March 24 8 pm to 5 am
Highway 9 will be closed to thru traffic between Arboleda Way and Lower Glen Arbor Rd. All traffic will be detoured through Glen Arbor Rd. Motorists will encounter flagging personnel at the intersection of Hwy. 9 and Lower Glen Arbor Rd. to stop traffic as work trucks enter and exit the work zone, and to keep traffic moving through the signal lights to minimize delays.
Thursday March 25 8 pm to 5 am
Highway 9 will be closed to thru traffic between Arboleda Way and Lower Glen Arbor Rd. including the southbound lane and two-way left turn pocket between Lower Glen Arbor Rd. to just north of Willowbrook Dr. All traffic will be detoured through Glen Arbor Rd. Motorists will encounter one-way reverse traffic control between Lower Glen Arbor Rd. and Willowbrook Drive.
Emergency vehicles will be able to proceed through the work zone when responding to an emergency call during each of these overnight closures.
Motorists are advised to expect delays of up to 20 minutes.
CHP will be on hand to help with work zone enforcement.
Message and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area.
All work is weather dependent and could be cancelled with a one-day notice.
Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway work zones.
