One-Way Reversing Traffic Control On Highway 9 Between Santa Cruz And Felton
JANUARY 20, 2023 – SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – A slope repair project on Highway 9 in two different locations between Santa Cruz and Felton will result in one-way traffic control over the next few months. The first location is just north of Camp Sycamore Road at PM 1.0 and the second location is just north of Sidehill Viaduct Bridge at PM 4.0. Crews are removing trees through next week as part of a larger slope repair project to install timber lagging and concrete viaduct. Flagging teams will be providing one-way reversing traffic control 24 hours a day. There will be a temporary traffic signal at each end of the closure as well. Message and directional signs will be in place to assist travelers in the area. Travelers can expect delays of up to 15 minutes. A detour will eventually direct travelers through Grant Hill Road when a full closure is in place on Hwy. 9. More information will be released as the project progresses and when details are certain.
The contractor for this $6.9 million project is Gordon N Ball, Inc. of Alamo, CA. This project is expected to be complete February 2025.
