SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – Travelers will encounter a full overnight closure of Highway 9 on Tuesday May 23 and Wednesday May 24 as crews continue to make repairs at Jaye’s Slide which was damaged during winter storms. A full closure of Highway 9 will take place on Tuesday May 23 and Wednesday May 24, from 9 pm to 6 am. A detour will be available via Glen Arbor Road. Travelers can expect delays of up to 10 minutes. Message and directional signs will be in place to alert travelers in advance of the closure. Jaye’s Slide is located on Highway 9 in Ben Lomond, near Park Way and Shadowbrook Rd. at the north end of Highlands County Park.
These overnight closures will permit crews to investigate and confirm utility locations which will facilitate future repairs. Repair work at Jaye’s Slide is being staggered to avoid closures during holiday travel dates this summer.
