One-Way Reversing Traffic Through Week of May 11 on Highway 9 In Boulder Creek

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC SIGNAL ON HIGHWAY 9 IN BOULDER CREEK WILL RESULT IN ONE-WAY REVERSING TRAFFIC THROUGH WEEK OF MAY 11

Travelers on Highway 9 will encounter daytime one-way reversing traffic control Monday through Friday at multiple locations during the week of May 11.

Projects Under Construction

The Highway 9 San Lorenzo River and Kings Creek Bridge Replacement Project is taking place north of Boulder Creek and involves the full replacement of these bridges for the safety of the traveling public.

– King’s Creek Bridge Replacement / Post Mile 15.41 to 15.55

– San Lorenzo River Bridge Replacement / Post Mile 13.58 to 13.69

Temporary traffic signals at both bridges are in place providing 24/7 signalized one-way control. The one-way traffic control supports the ongoing bridge replacement work where crews during this first phase of the project will close the southbound lane to replace the southbound portion of the bridge.

An on-call temporary shuttle is available from 7 am to 6 pm seven days a week to shuttle pedestrians and bicyclists through the 3-mile work zone. The first stop is located at PM 13.078 at Middleton Ave. and Hwy 9. The last stop is located at PM 16.267 near Seeds of Knowledge Preschool campus.

The Highway 9 Felton Pedestrian Safety Improvements Project is constructing a sidewalk and bikeable shoulder on the southbound side of Hwy. 9 between the San Lorenzo Valley Schools Complex and downtown Felton continues with daytime and overnight traffic control.

– Thursday May 14 from 8 pm to 6 am

Overnight one-way reversing traffic control on Hwy. 9 north of Graham Hill Rd, PM 6.4- 7.2, for trenching at communication utility relocation work locations.

The Highway 9 Upper Drainage and Erosion Control Improvements Project is improving the operation of key drainage systems along Hwy. 9 and will include culvert replacement, paving, and enhancement of erosion control systems. This work will take place between Brookdale and the junction with upper Hwy. 236.

– On Monday, May 11 a temporary traffic signal will be activated to establish 24/7 single lane reversible traffic control from 0.21 miles north of Clear Creek Road/Pacific Street to 0.32 miles south of Irwin Way PM 11.66. This traffic signal is estimated to operate through the end of September.

*Traffic Control for Utility Work and Tree Trimming from 9 am to 2 pm

– May 11 through May 15 / Post Mile 8.09 to 8.11

– May 11 and May 12 / Post Mile 18.25 to 18.3

– May 12 / Post Mile R20.8 to 20.38

– May 14 / Post Mile 5.54

Message and directional signs will alert travelers in advance of the areas under traffic control. Please allow for extra time for your travels through the area.
