Published October 13, 2017

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – A project to remove and haul slide material from the catchment area and repair rock-fall as needed on both directions of Highway 1 between Waddell Creek and the Santa Cruz/San Mateo County line will begin Monday, Oct. 16. Details are as follows:

  • Mondays through Thursdays:
    • One way traffic control from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm

    • One-way traffic control from 7:30 am to 3 pm

Electronic message signs have been posted to alert motorists of this roadwork. Motorists can expect delays of 5-10 minutes.

This roadwork is necessary to ensure the safety of all travelers and is scheduled to be complete in mid-November, weather permitting.

The contractor for this $240,000 project is Robert J. Frank Construction of Redding, CA.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
