Tree Removal and Fuel Reduction Project to Close Lane on Highway 17 this Week
Caltrans tree removal maintenance work on Highway 17 in Santa Cruz mountains will result in single lane closures this week.
- On Tuesday, Sept. 22, the right, number two lane, of northbound Highway 17 will be closed from Jarvis Road to Sugarloaf Road, from 10 am to 2 pm.
- On Wednesday, Sept. 23, the right, number two lane, of southbound Highway 17 will be closed from Glenwood Drive to Jarvis Road, from 9 am to 2 pm.
- And, on Thursday, Sept. 24, the right, number two lane, of southbound Highway 17 will be closed from Summit Road to Alta Vista, also from 9 am to 2 pm.
Electronic message signs will be activated to inform the public about this roadwork.
Motorists can expect traffic delays of up to 10 minutes.
This maintenance work is necessary to reduce fire hazards and protect properties adjacent to the highway.
Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway work zones.
