Highway 9 Paving Work Starts 6/16

Published June 13, 2025

Paving Work on Highway 9 to Begin June 16 Between Mountain Street to Larkspur Street in Brookdale

Caltrans will begin a four-day paving project on Highway 9, from Mountain Street and Larkspur Street in Brookdale on Monday, June 16, 2025, continuing through Thursday, June 19. Work will be conducted daily from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, weather permitting.

This project will repair and resurface the asphalt pavement in four designated areas to enhance roadway conditions. To ensure safety and facilitate the construction process, one-way traffic control will be implemented within the construction zone. Motorists can expect delays of up to 20 to 30 minutes.

Paving Project Locations:

  • June 16: Northbound Highway 9 from River Street to Mountain Street.
  • June 17: Southbound Highway 9 from River Street to Mountain Street.
  • June 18: Northbound Highway 9 from Larkspur Street to Irwin Way.
  • June 19: Southbound Highway 9 from Irwin Way to Larkspur Street.

Bicyclists and pedestrians are advised to use the side opposite of the work zone. Limited access to certain streets and businesses may occur on June 16 and June 17. Motorists should plan for longer travel times and expect delays.

Caltrans thanks the community for its patience during this critical paving operation.
