Capitola Bridge Maintenance Project on Highway 1 to Start Closure of Northbound Bay/Porter Onramp Set for Next Week
A preventative bridge maintenance project on Highway 1 in Capitola is set to begin next week. This project will place scour protection along bridge supports situated in Soquel Creek.
This project will require intermittent closure of the Bay/Porter onramp to northbound Hwy. 1. During the closure of this ramp, travelers will be directed by way of detour to take the northbound Hwy. 1 onramp at 41st Ave. Message and directional signs will be in place to assist travelers.
Next week, travelers will encounter a daytime closure of the northbound Bay/Porter onramp to Highway 1, from 9 am to 4 pm, Monday July 17 through Thursday July 20.
This Soquel Creek Bridge project is expected be completed by the end of September 2023. The contractor for this $1.06 million project is Granite Construction Co. of Watsonville, CA.
