SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – A project to restore a failed slope and construct a side-hill viaduct at two locations on Hwy. 9 continues this week.
Travelers will continue to encounter a full, long-term closure of Hwy. 9 at 0.8 mile south of Glengarry Road which has been in effect since April 24. The closure area is between the Henry Cowell Redwoods Vista Point and Glengarry Road. This 24/7 full closure of Hwy. 9 will be in place through Monday May 22. A detour is available using Graham Hill Rd.
Electrical and directional signs are in place to alert travelers of this closure. Travelers can expect delays of up to 15 minutes.
At a second location on Hwy. 9, a temporary signal is in place to provide traffic control one mile north of Vernon St. Travelers can expect delays of up to 10 minutes
