
Highway 152 (Hecker Pass Rd.) East Of Watsonville Set for Full Closure Wed. August 24
A striping operation on Hwy. 152 east of Watsonville will result in a full closure of the Hwy. 152 on Wednesday August 24.
Highway 152 (Hecker Pass Rd.) will be closed between Casserly Road (Carlton Road) and Pole Line Road.
The hours of the closure on Wed. August 24 will be from 8 am to 3 pm.
This full closure along a particularly hilly stretch of Hwy. 152 is necessary so that vehicles do not cross the freshly striped roadway.
CHP will be on hand to assist with traffic control.
Emergency vehicles will have full access through the project area during closure hours.
Detours are available for travelers wishing to take an alternative route to reach or travel from US 101 and the Gilroy area.
Travelers eastbound on Hwy. 152 will be directed to turn right on Carlton Rd. and to take Hwy. 129 east to reach US 101.
Travelers from the Gilroy area may continue south on US 101 to reach Hwy. 129 or alternatively head south on Santa Teresa Rd. in Gilroy to take the US 101 south to reach westbound Hwy. 129.
Message and directional signs will be in place to assists travelers.
Travelers taking these alternative routes can expect additional travel time of 15 minutes.
