Highway 35 Near Bear Creek Road Reopened After Daytime Closure for Concrete Pour
Highway 35 near Bear Creek Road in the Santa Cruz Mountains, has reopened today at 2:30 pm after crews closed the road to pour a concrete barrier slab.
Highway 35 has returned to one-way reversing traffic control via a temporary signal system. Crews will continue with additional repair work on the northbound lane behind concrete barriers over the next few months.
This section of Highway 35 was previously closed on October 2, and reopened November 30, for repairs to damage from winter storms. Crews excavated the site, constructed a soldier pile wall to support the damaged northbound lane, and installed drainage systems.
