
Slope Repair on Highway 9 to Result in Closures
A project to restore a failed slope and construct a side-hill viaduct at two locations on Hwy. 9 will begin work this week.
Travelers on Hwy. 9 one mile north of Vernon St. will encounter a full overnight closure of Hwy. 9 on Wednesday April 19 from 8 pm to 6 am.
A detour is available via Graham Hill Rd.
Travelers will also encounter a long-term closure of Hwy. 9 at 0.8 mile south of Glengarry Road.
This 24/7 closure will go into effect Monday April 24 at 7 am. This full closure of Hwy. 9 at 0.8 miles south of Glengarry Road will be in effect through Monday May 15.
A detour will likewise be available using Graham Hill Rd.
Electrical and directional signs will be in place to alert travelers of these closures.
Travelers can expect delays of up to 15 minutes.
The contractor for this $6.95 million project is Gordon N Ball, Inc. of Alamo, CA.
