Highway 9 at the Holiday Slide has fully reopened as of earlier this morning. Over the last two nights, crews removed the one-way temporary signal system and concrete barriers and applied permanent striping. Since early January, contractors have been working on slide and debris removal, drainage management, slope stabilization, and the rebuilding of a retaining wall after damage from winter storms.
A temporary signal system with one-way traffic control remains in place on Highway 9 one half mile north of the Holiday Slide at a slide area known as Jaye’s Wall. Work to address this slope, likewise damaged in this winter’s storm, is ongoing. Final repairs are awaiting the relocation of utility poles.
